About 25 years ago, I began my work at The Body Shop.  It was the place to work back then because it was a powerhouse brand and there was a certain cache about working there. I learnt so much about myself and how to sell.

In fact, we were so well trained that I thought that’s the way all retail organisations invested in their staff.  Boy, was I wrong!  And not much has changed.

Of course, there are exceptions: they stand out because a brilliant retail experience these days is rare.  These days someone asking more than “Can I help you, or Happy just browsing?” is a stand out.

So, I’m on a mission. I love retail. 

Whether you’re selling cars, kitchens, bathrooms, furniture, fashion, cosmetics or food, short term transactional selling will get you the sale today at the expense of a customer for life.
